Privacy Policy

Beside is a teleprompter made by Akila Studio. The short version: your scripts and your recordings stay on your iPhone. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

What stays on your device

Your scripts, takes, chapter marks and settings are saved only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. They are included in your iPhone backup like any other app data, and they are not synced to any cloud of mine. I never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

Camera and microphone

Beside uses the camera and microphone only to record your takes. If you turn on voice follow, it also listens to the microphone to recognise your speech and move the script along. That recognition runs on the iPhone itself; your voice and your words never leave the device.

Photos

Beside asks for add-only access to Photos, and only when you save a take there. It can add videos to your library; it cannot see or read anything already in it.

Apple Watch

The Watch remote talks to your iPhone directly. What passes between them (play, pause, speed, sections, record, and the state of the prompter) goes nowhere else.

Purchases

Beside Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; I never see your name, card or Apple Account details. To know whether Pro is unlocked, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase receipts. No personal data is sent. RevenueCat uses this only to validate and restore purchases on my behalf.

What I don't do

• I don't collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, scripts or recordings.
• I don't use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
• I don't show ads, sell data or share it with data brokers.
• I don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Children

Beside doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your choices

You can delete any script or take in the app at any time, or delete the app to remove everything stored on the device. Camera, microphone, speech recognition and Photos access can be turned off at any time in the Settings app, under Beside.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
